Andy Cruz stuns Omar Salcedo, Keshawn Davis and Shakur Stevenson

Andy Cruz (5-0, 2 KOs) says he heads to Keshawn Davis and Shakur Stevenson in a “weird” meeting following his 10-round unanimous decision win over Omar Salcedo (20-2, 14 KOs) at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas on Saturday night.

A haunted look from Kishon

Shakur expressed his admiration for lightweight contender Cruz’s win, saying he looked “amazing.” Keyshawn looked in shock, as if he had seen a ghost, and you can see by looking at him that Cruz’s performance tonight had intimidated him, bringing back flashbacks of his victory over him in the 2020 Olympics.

If there was any chance of Keshawn fighting Cruz soon, it was gone with his performance tonight because he is better than he was five years ago when he taught him at the Olympics. Cruz’s coach, Derek “Boosie” Ennis, is turning him into a more offensive fighter who sits on shots more. In the 10th round, Cruz hurt Salcedo badly and was forced to stand down. This had never happened to him before.

The scores were 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92 for Cruz.

Boosie praised

“He would have been out if Andy hadn’t paused. He hit him with some good shots, but he stopped sometimes,” coach Derek “Bosie” Ennis said. FighthypeUnder the pretext that Andy Cruz would have fired Omar Salcedo if he had not paused after hitting him with good shots.

“I’ve seen when he’s hooked him a few times. He looks, then he follows him. Once you do that, you have to take him down. He picks it up nice. I gave him an A,” Posey said of Cruz’s performance. “He won every round, and he did it against One of the punches.

“He comes up every time. He fought a guy who was 20-1. This kid was no slouch. He can take a punch, he can fight. So, Andy is there. I give him until the end of this year to fight for the title. Who’s got the tile He is who we want.

The “strange” encounter.

“I see Andy giving anyone a problem in the division. I don’t care who he is. Anyone. At the end of 2025 (Cruz is fighting for a world title),” Ennis said.

“Goal accomplished, I’m going to keep going to the top,” Andy Cruz said. “They were acting a little weird, but Keyshawn is my son, and Shakur was like, ‘What else is up,’” Crews said of him walking up to Shakur Stevenson and Keyshawn David after his win over Salido.
