Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said President Donald Trump on Monday agreed to stop the implementation of the planned US definitions on imports from Canada for at least 30 days.
A stand in a tweet was announced by Trudeau hours after Trump and the President of Mexico said that Trump would stop for one month a striped tariff on imports from Mexico.
In both cases, the stops came after these countries agreed to take steps towards preventing the fatal pentanels to the United States.
Trump said on Saturday that he would impose a 25 % tariff on the goods from Mexico and Canada, and 10 % tariffs on goods imported from China. Trump was also planning to impose a 10 % tariff on Canada’s energy resources.
Trudeau warned on Saturday that his country would carry out a tariff of 255 % for $ 155 billion of American goods in response to the Trump tariff.
But in a tweet on Monday, she announced a temporary stop, Trudeau wrote, “I received a good call with President Trump.”
Trudeau said that Canada had made new obligations “to appoint Ventanil Caesar”, among other measures.
Trudeau wrote: “The proposed definitions will be stopped for at least 30 days while we work together.”
Canada wrote in a social position in fact. Our country.
“I am very pleased with this initial result, and the definitions announced on Saturday will be stopped for 30 days to see if a final economic deal with Canada can be organized,” Trump wrote. “Equity for everyone!”
Earlier on Monday, Trump stopped a tariff on Mexico’s imports after Claudia Shinbom, the president of that country, said that she will immediately send 10,000 soldiers to its northern borders of Fintanel shipments in the United States.
The vast majority of the seizure of the American border comes from Mexico.
In 2024, more than 2,1100 pounds of fentanel were seized by the American authorities on the border with Mexico, compared to only 43 lbs on the Canadian border.
