Social Network Bluesky will soon be given its users more control of those who can respond to their posts. The Bluesky Paul Frazee developer will have confirmed, Bluesky will add a new setting “only followers” that users can configure to reduce responses. These changes will help increase the distinction between the application from its biggest competitors, X -Meta and Meta threads.
On X, users can choose between a group of response controls, including “everyone”, “accounts that follow”, “verification accounts”, and “only accounts that you mentioned”. You can also publish to specific societies you are a member, which also limits their arrival.
Meanwhile, on topics, users can choose between “anyone”, “definition files that follow” and “only mentioned”.
Bluesky has so far adopted a similar set of settings as competitors, allowing users to restrict responses to their participation on “everyone”, “no one”, “mentioned users”, and “users followers”. (In addition, you can combine the last two options with any lists you created.)
The option of “only followers” is a new development, and Frazee says it can help make “go less intense” while reducing “context collapse”. This indicates how long it expands a virus publication, its access beyond the original target audience, which may misunderstand or confuse the publication.
