Backline, a new start -up company that uses artificial intelligence agents to automatically treat security weaknesses, gets out of a seed of $ 9 million seed led by Stageone Ventures.
This is the third emerging company by Maor Goldberg, co -founder of the company and CEO. The idea behind the back line is that developers and security teams are drowned in security alerts.
“The only thing we have seen almost a day is that, as an industry, we drown large organizations with problems,” said Goldberg. “They buy Sysdig, buy Wizz, buy SNYK – all these wonderful companies and great names. Their mission is to go to customers and tell them where they have problems. The truth is that these security teams buy these tools, but they cannot fix most of these problems.”
After all, safety teams depend on engineers to fix weaknesses, for example, or on platform engineering teams to fix bad operations.
“There is always a need for security teams to go and chase another person in the organization. All of these teams, without exception, have no time.”
Backline can mainly take notifications of all these security tools and begin to treat many issues. Artificial intelligence agents look at weakness, and they create a proposal for how to fix it, implement the necessary changes, then test them.
Backline says this test step is crucial, and it has been inspired by the way the team teams use official ways to test their products. This is the only way to generate confidence with potential users.
To do this, the company uses large linguistic models (LLMS). “All our intellectual property is built around capture where (security surveying tools) stopped. There is a high priority problem that must be addressed. BackLine’s ambitions exceed their current treatment of weaknesses. Looking at the future, the company wants to address the supply chain problems for programs such as finding exposed secrets, fixing identity and access problems, and a fixed application safety test.
