Waymo plans to start testing self -government cars in 10 new cities this year, starting with Las Vegas and San Diego, according to freedom. Although this does not mean that the company will launch commercial operations in any of these cities – or even test them in an independent situation. Tell Waymo Verge that it will send less than 10 AVS to each city, where it will be guided manually.
The news comes a few hours before the fourth profit call in Tesla 2024, where investors will listen to updates for the Robotaxi initiatives of the auto company and self -driving initiatives.
Waymo is already working on a commercial robotics service in three cities – Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles – with plans to launch in Austin, Atlanta and Miami this year.
The company, owned by the alphabet, has not confirmed whether it was to launch a robotics service in any of the cities it tests this year. Waymo usually sends a limited fleet that a person moves to test through a wide range of city and driving conditions and learn how to adapt his system to new environments.
In 2024, Waymo tested its vehicles in Michigan and NewState in New York State to test its technology in harsh winter conditions.
