Investing.com-Elon Musk asked a federal judge to reject a proposed lawsuit against collective action that claims that the gift of elections worth one million dollars a day to support the American constitution was an illegal lottery under the Texas Law.
The lawsuit, which was filed on November 5, 2024, by Jacqueline Macafti, residing in Arizona, claims that Tesla Inc (Nasdaq 🙂 MUSK CEO and the Political Labor Committee, America PAC, have misled the participants by proposing the winners randomly.
In his defense, Musk argued that the participants were fully aware that signing the petition had provided an opportunity to earn money as US speakers PAC, not through the random lottery. He stressed that providing personal information did not cause harm, as shown in the case.
The lawsuit seeks to obtain $ 5 million of damage to the petition, claiming that the gift was deceptive and violating the laws of the state.
The Musk initiative, which was part of his support for Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, included a daily prize of one million dollars for voters registered in the swinging states who signed a petition supporting the United States’ constitution. The legal debate focuses on whether this is an illegal urge or legitimate promotional activity.
